Body contouring surgeries

Our body contouring surgeries can reshape and refine areas of the body for a firmer, more aesthetic appearance, for both men and women. Our procedures include:

  • Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck): removes excess abdominal skin and fat while tightening weakened muscles for a flatter, firmer stomach.
  • Liposuction: targets and removes localised fat deposits to sculpt specific areas of the body.
  • Arm Lift / Arm Reduction: addresses loose or sagging skin under the upper arms for a more toned appearance.
  • Thigh Lift: tightens and lifts thigh skin, reducing sagging and improving overall leg contour.

Overview of the condition

  • An abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck is a procedure where loose skin is removed from the abdomen and can involve tightening the abdominal wall muscles. The belly button is usually relocated after the skin is removed. The procedure works best in those who have had massive weight loss or women who have excess skin after childbirth. The amount of skin and soft tissue removed is tailored to the individual and may include liposuction to achieve the best results.

Your initial consultation

  • Length of initial consultation: 30 – 45 mins
  • If imaging/x-rays required: No medical imaging is usually needed. Photographs are usually taken for documentation and planning.

Key facts about the operation

  • Length of surgery on the day: 2 – 3 hours
  • Anaesthesia: General anaesthetic
  • Length of stay in hospital: One to two nights in hospital
  • There is a large horizontal scar in the lower part of the abdomen and a smaller scar at the new belly button position.

Post surgery recovery

  • One to two nights in hospital. You may have a bladder catheter that is removed the morning after surgery. You will also require a pressure garment that is to be worn for up to 6 weeks after surgery.
  • First follow up appointment is 7 days after surgery for change of dressings and removal of any sutures.
  • Quiet rest is recommended for the first few days gradually increasing over the first 3 – 4 weeks. Heavy activity, such as gym work is restricted until week 6.

Overview of the condition

Liposuction is a common cosmetic procedure where excess or unwanted fat is removed from parts of the body. It is often used in conjunction with other body contouring procedures to achieve the best results. Liposuction relies on the skin’s ability to contract and tighten in the weeks following treatment and is best suited to those with good muscle tone and firm elastic skin.

Your initial consultation

  • Length of initial consultation: 30 mins

Key facts about the operation

  • Length of surgery on the day: Depends on the amount of fat being removed.
  • Anaesthesia: Local anaesthetic for smaller areas or General anaesthetic
  • Length of stay in hospital: Day procedure (you go home the same day)
  • Discharged with a compression garment

Post surgery recovery

  • You will need to wear a compressive garment in order to minimize bruising and swelling. The garment supports loose skin and helps to even our any irregularities.
  • The garment is worn continuously for the first 2 weeks and then as much as possible for the next 4 weeks.
  • Bruising can take up to four weeks to improve while swelling takes much longer, lasting up to 3 months.
  • Return to work and usual activity is dependent on the size of the area treated.

Overview of the condition

Brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is a procedure where loose skin is removed from the inside of the upper arm. The procedure is commonly considered after massive weight loss and is often combined with liposuction to achieve the best results. The incision is placed in the inner arm to hide the scar.
